Anove shows the responsible use of Bt technology
The National Association of Plant Breeders (Anove) has published the 14th edition of its “Guide to Good Practice for growing Bt corn”, a reference document that seeks to inform farmers about the responsible use of this technology to ensure proper application that allows real coexistence between conventional, organic and biotech crops.
The traders of maize varieties MON 810 genetic protection, which confers resistance to holes (Ostrinia nubilalis and Sesamia spp), initiate the new communication and training program to accompany the first plantings in 2016.
The “Guide to Good Practice for growing Bt corn” comes attached to the bags of seeds and meets all three elements to consider when these varieties are used: planting shelter to prevent the development of resistance in the holes, coexistence and traceability and labeling. Along with the reissue of the guide, also return to edit the poster and postcard on shelters and other communication materials Anove offered through its website.
A new communication campaign Anove and trading companies, as indicated by the Spanish polls, get the vast majority of users to comply with the obligations and practices described.
A national commitment GFP in a year in which the 20th campaign planting of genetically improved varieties worldwide is met.
