An event that promotes the use of exotic fruits in the kitchen
ARC Eurobanan held on May 31st the Third edition of the Gastronomic Contest Isla Bonita with its new range of Premium Gold fruit starring in the landmark restaurant Café de Oriente in Madrid. Led by the gastronomic journalist Concha Crespo, the act welcomed preparing of innovative recipes with tropical and exotic fruits Isla Bonita Premium Gold range, by great chefs, prescribers press and amateurs.
Finally, in the category of chef, Miguel Vega, chef from Doki Doki Restaurante won the prize with his plate Gunkan Anguilla with pineapple sphere, a creation that captivated the jury for its interesting mix of flavors.
In the category Journalists and Bloggers, Francisca Guerrero of Cosmomedia Group, was proclaimed winner with the dish sprinkled Mango Beach with mango and biscuit. Nacho Espadas, Marketing Director of Marketing Drinks, won the coveted award in the category of beginners thanks to its proposal Sushi harp Isla Bonita, made with mango Premium Gold. Finally, the Impact Award restaurateur increased traffic generated in social networks, was awarded to Beatriz de la Iglesia for his recipe salmon tartare with avocado and mango, which had the advice of chef Cesar Ruiz from restaurant José Luis.
Special mention of the winners, the real stars of the day were the avocado, mango, papaya, pineapple and papayón.
The event was attended by the famous Carmen Lomana, with the participation of chefs from renowned establishments such as: Viridiana, Welow, Tanta, Pisco 41 and Kechua, Doki Doki, Lhardy, José Luis, Dsesto, an official pastry of restaurant Cordon Bleu, the hotel Son Net in Mallorca, Taqueria del Alamillo or the restaurant Artys of Oscar Lozano and Cesar Ruiz Jose Luis restaurant.
The jury responsible for assessing the recipes based on exotic fruits was comprised by Princess Beatrice of Orleans, Ramon Rey, International and Marketing Director of ARC Eurobanan, Peace Romanillos, Deputy Director of Cosmomedia Group, or Tatiana Ferrándiz from the newspaper La Razon, among others.
The winning dishes will be part of the III “gastronomic days” taking place at participating restaurants beginning June 15.
The collaborating firms participating in this event were the Hotel Son Net, the company Air Experiences, the Vihucas Bodegas and Santiago Queirolo pisco chain.

The new Premium Gold range of Isla Bonita consists of delicious Mangos, Avocados, Cherries, Pineapples papayón, Papaya, Custard, Granadilla, Lulo, Passion Fruit, Physalis Tamarillo, Pitahaya Amarilla, passion fruit, mangosteen, rambutan, pineapple Baby, guava, soursop, Kumquat and Bananito and coconut water.
The harvesting system approved by the range of Premium Gold verify that it is cultivated using traditional methods, and its raw material is carefully selected in the country of production. A team of professionals is responsible for ensuring their quality standards from the origin to the point of reception, getting a fruit ready to eat and in its optimum ripeness.
