Madrid hosts Mixology Trends, the first congress of mixology trends, spirits and culinary harmonies
During the 28th and September 29th will be held for the first time in Madrid, an event that brings together all professionals in the catering sector: Mixology (X) Trends. Throughout 2014, they have been marketed in Spain around 200 million liters of spirits and 760 million euros of excise duty was raised. Spain is the third country, after Britain and France, with the highest number of direct jobs created by this industry in the whole European Union.
Against this background that moves large quantities in the economy of Spain, born Mixogoly (X) Trends a need to educate professionals and the most international trends show event. The congress will have different areas, lecture rooms and activities that will make this year’s event mixology. Mixology (X) Trends is divided among other areas, in:
The Academy
The Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid will be the meeting point for opinion leaders from international prestige, who will be responsible for disseminating the techniques and latest trends in gastronomy and mixology. Speakers very important internationally, coming from four continents, will educate innovative conferences and other forms of responsible consumption, such as:
Charles Joly (Chicago), champion of the World Class 2014; Federico Cuco (Buenos Aires), jury hit TV: The Great Bartender, Argentina; Antonio Lay (Hong Kong), voted one of the best bartenders in the world recognized by the World Class 2015, it owns Quinary, multisensory the first cocktail bar; Anastasia Miller and Jared Brown (London), the couple most relevant literary historians of cocktails and spirits worldwide, with more than 40 published books are undoubtedly the greatest forerunners of the culture of the distillate. The extensive program of activities has thematic papers as “Pairing with the vanguard” given by chef Paco Roncero, awarded two Michelin stars, with Diego Cabrera, honorary president of the congress and recognized consultant in mixology. Hand in hand with “The Macallan”, Josep Roca (Celler de Can Roca), which has three Michelin stars, will speak on the “Effects of wood in the distillate.” Jose Joaquin Cortes, sommelier and Golden Nose of Spain 2012, will focus on “Molecular Pairing” with Ron Zacapa and Isabel Medina, Master Distiller of Ron Botrán in Guatemala, will give a presentation on “Secrets Botrán rums of the family” (* 1 details in Annex).
Gourmet Area
Within the gourmet area, we will have the presence of important and renowned chefs, which merged with Premium drinks gourmet food made unprecedented and innovative creations.
Nacho Manzano, holder of two Michelin star chef of Casa Marcial and La Salgar, will hand the Solan de Cabras refreshments at this congress. Mario Sandoval, Coque restaurant owner and Michelin-star gastronomic mergers made with Hendricks gin protagonist. Mary Mars Club Allard restaurant chef who has two Michelin stars, we spoil you with culinary harmonies with Ron Debonaire and Iberian Alvaro Parra. The congress has a wide range of educational activities divided into the following areas:

Nosing & Tasting blind: blind tastings FASCV conducted by the Federation of Associations of Sommeliers of Valencia, where blindfolded attendees will have to taste different products, testing their sensory skills.
Forest aromas: this activity comes from the hand of Regional and Co. The Massala to help guests to develop the senses, through the interesting world of aromas.
Book Store: space where different publishing houses will present their news. These thematic books will be presented by Ramon Parra, Tupac Kirby, Juan Muñoz, Francois Monti, or Maria Luisa Martin and others. Also relevant time authors the likes of Jared Brown or Patxi Troitiño sign copies for attendees. Carlos Duran, take the opportunity to present his latest book “The scoundrel kitchen”.
Cocoa Bar: guests can learn about the latest news from this product, besides enjoying harmonies with major cocoa distillates and domestic market.

Bar & Restaurant
This first edition of Mixology (X) Trends will bring together over 500 commercial brands distributed in almost 200 stands, who will present their innovations and new products to market to meet the expectation of industry trends in the public catering sector.
It is divided into the following areas: Hardware Bar, Low Proof, Cask Spitirits, White Spirits and Multi Brands. (* 2 more in the appendix).
Mixology Awards
As a finale, it will hold a Gala “Xtrends Awards”, which will recognize and reward individuals, companies or entities that promoted the culture more, diffusion and innovation of the industry during 2014.
