Peru: Peru shines in Spain in the Peruvian Gastronomic
Peruvian cuisine had its role in Spain this spring through the Gastronomic Days of Peru. Victor Gutierrez (the namesake restaurant in Salamanca) and Jorge Muñoz (chef of Pakta in Barcelona) brought the best of the Andean country in 10 restaurants of the group El Corte Ingles (Castellana, Serrano, Goya, Preciados and Princesa in Madrid, Diagonal and Plaza Catalunya in Barcelona, Pintor Sorolla in Valencia, Bilbao and Santiago).
Days were offering one of Peru’s national drink tasting menu consisting of sea bass ceviche, quinoa salad, lamb dry dessert, sandwich cookies and mango in three textures with gelé pisco. But also workshops of cuisine in restaurants in several cities with taste tests and preparation of dishes to publicize the Peruvian culinary traditions.
Ten years ago Victor Gutierrez won his Michelin star for his restaurant in Salamanca. For his part, Jorge Muñoz, was obtained in 2014. Today, with the experience and achieved recognition both represented Peruvian cuisine flawlessly.
