MAGRAMA invests about 8 million to the modernization of irrigation in Huesca
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), through the State Society of Agrarian Infrastructure (SEIASA), has signed an agreement with the Community of Irrigators of Orillena (Huesca) for the modernization of irrigation sector XI Canal Monegros. CR Orillena. Phase I. Works, where the planned investment is 7.8 million euros and that will affect an area of 1,969 hectares located between the municipalities of Lalueza, Lanaja and Sariñena.2016.
The action is aimed at replacing the current system of irrigation on foot by a sprinkler system, for which the construction of a raft of regulation, which will be supplied from Monegros Canal, is contemplated; and two irrigation networks, one for natural pressure and forced another by pressure and pumping station. The modernization of the irrigable area will benefit 120 community members.
The Ministry, through SEIASA, has undertaken to date 35 performances of consolidation and modernization of irrigation in Aragon, with a total investment of 259.3 million euros.
