Fira de Mollerussa: accomplished goals
The Fira de Sant Josep of Mollerussa (Lleida), the Catalan Agricultural Machinery Fair, held from 17 to 20 March its 144th edition with the participation of 285 exhibitors and 150,000 visitors, exceeding the previous edition figures. The event also garnered a record of professionals in the technical conferences.
About 1,500 attended the thirteen sessions were carried to term in the technical conferences and among which highlighted the 15 Bolsa Interpirenaica Cereal, with 400 operators from different parts of Spain and Europe, especially in southern France and Switzerland, in addition to Italy Russia, Ukraine, Poland or the US.
We should also mention the First Meeting of Young Field, a bet Department of Agriculture of the Catalan Government which had 250 registered and where experience and knowledge are shared, or InnoEspai, a platform for presentation of new techniques in agriculture.
The edition of this year, which hosted the Championship of Catalunya CastKills, was inaugurated by the president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Carles Puigdemont, who praised the leridana fair as “benchmark event for its innovation capacity” and lauded its international vocation.
The Fira de Sant Josep has closed its 144th edition with a positive balance that emerges from the data provided by the surveys of exhibitors and where more than 60% of them claim to have met its objectives. Other data show that 80% of the participating firms intend to repeat their presence at the fair in the next call or 85% rated as good or very good overall assessment of the contest.
In addition to the president of the Generalitat, the event featured in their official acts with directors of different departments such as the Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Meritxell Serret; the Interior, Public Administration and Housing, Meritxell Borràs, and of Territory and Sustainability, Josep Rull.
The fair has also been satisfied its commitment to internationalization. On this point, noting the previous agreement signed between Fira de Mollerussa, as organizer, and APRICMA association with a view to taking actions that impact precisely on this issue. Also during the fair a meeting with Polish consul responsible for ACCIÓ program of the Government, FEMEL, APRICMA and trade fair institution, meeting served to raise an upcoming trade mission to Poland took place.
With a net exhibition space of nearly 20,000 m2, the Fira de Sant Josep met in this 144th edition a total of 285 direct exhibitors (2% more than the previous year), of which 129 corresponded to the grounds outside, where exposed the agricultural machinery and accessories for agriculture and livestock; 135 to the exhibition halls, dedicated to agricultural supplements and livestock, industrial services and construction, feed, pesticides, seeds and plants, entities and agri-food sector, and 21 to the Motor Show, located in the campus swimming pools, with exposure of more than 400 models.

– Special Award for Innovation Constructor / Expositor of Agricultural Machinery and / or livestock of the Spanish State, awarded by Fira de Mollerussa and endowed with 1,600 euros: Exhibitor: Tallers Gili S.L. Montgai. For a smart tank for applying manure with bluetooth communication.
– Innovation Award Agricultural Machinery, awarded by Fira de Mollerussa and endowed with 1,100 euros: Exhibitor: Tallers Compar S.A. Sant Pere de Torello. For a spreader trailer with scale and management program.
– Prize for innovation in machinery or facilities agroindustrial, awarded by the Col • legi d’Enginyers Tècnics Agricoles i Perits Agricoles de Catalunya (Demarcation of Lleida) and endowed with 1,100 euros: Exhibitor: Watt Energia S.L. Tarrega. By a hot air generator for biomass outdoor heat exchanger.
