Revolutionary BASF fungicide for control of powdery mildew in horticultural

BASF has recently introduced Enervin® Duo, its next-generation fungicide for control of powdery mildew in horticultural crops. The Palace exhibition and conference of Roquetas de Mar -Almería- was the setting for the launch of this revolutionary product.

The event was inaugurated by Silvia Cifre, Director of the Division of BASF Crop Protection in Spain, which highlighted the revolution that the use of Enervin® Duo will mean for horticulturalist.
«Today is a very special day because we are bringing to market a product that contains a unique and so revolutionary molecule that has deserved the creation of a new chemical class. This is something that does not happen every day. If we also consider that the route to reach such an achievement can last 10 years and the valuation of more than 100,000 substances, we understand the importance of innovation like this. «

It could also count on the presence of Angela Araujo, Crop European Manager for Horticulture and Cecilio Fernandez, Technical Crop Manager for Horticulture in Spain, who wanted to explain to the audience the advantages of this innovative new fungicide to control downy mildew.

Enervin® Duo combines two complementary active ingredients in a single product: Initium® (ametoctradin), the new molecule developed by BASF, the result of the most innovative research and Dimethomorph. Initium® belongs to a new chemical class, the triazolo-piridimilaminas, and acts by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration of the fungus causing their death. Initium® is the only active ingredient that has this mode of action and therefore there is no cross-resistance with other currently marketed molecules, making it the ideal choice for control of resistance in horticultural crops tool and a major contribution to reinvigorating treatment programs

Enervin® Duo facilitates the work of the farmer providing the flexibility they need, because it is compatible with IPM-Fauna assistant and is authorized in many cultures, presenting a versatile and smooth formulation mixtures. It is also resistant to washing and selective in all approved crops.

With the launch of this new fungicide, BASF is again positioned next to the farmer, providing solutions to their problems through research and cutting-edge innovation.
