The National Mango Board (NMB) has begun the search for candidates to fill six vacancies on its Board of Directors for the 2027–2029 term.

Sources from the organization explain that “the main goal of the Board is to raise awareness and increase the consumption of fresh mango in the United States, while educating consumers about the culture, flavor, and nutritional benefits of this versatile superfruit. Likewise, the Board serves as a unifying force within the mango industry.”

The entity invites members of the mango industry to submit their nomination applications for the following vacancies, with a deadline of February 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (Eastern Time): Two Foreign Producers, Three Importers from District II, and One Domestic Producer.

Structure and Characteristics

The National Mango Board is composed of 18 members, including importers, domestic producers, foreign producers, and a first handler. Appointed for a three‑year term, Board members work closely with NMB staff to implement Marketing, Research, and Industry Relations programs that benefit the entire sector.

Nomination forms are available at www.mango.org/es/sobre-la-nmb/nominaciones/ (mango.org in Bing) or by contacting the National Mango Board’s Director of Operations, Rolff Vladimir Mitton (rmitton@mango.org), or Operations Manager Gabriela Rocha (grocha@mango.org). The U.S. Department of Agriculture makes the final decision on all Board member appointments.

Promoting Diversity

The National Mango Board promotes diversity within the mango community, including producers, importers, shippers, distributors, marketers, and partners. The Board encourages industry members to apply regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, protected genetic information, or retaliation.
