Spain: horticultural exports rise 1% in 2017 to exceed € 12,700M

The Spanish export of fresh fruits and vegetables in 2017 increased by 1% compared to 2016, totaling 12,704 million euros. In volume, they registered an increase of 0.5%, standing at 12.6 million tons, according to data from the General Directorate of Customs, made public on February 21, not meeting the initial growth forecasts, due to the retreat of the months of November and December, also slowing down the growth rate in relation to 2016 and 2015.

Proexport to Host Fruit Attraction Conference on Lettuce

The Association of Producers-Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables of the Region of Murcia (Proexport) will celebrate on 18th October, in the framework of Fruit Attraction 2017, an event to be held from 18th to 20th October in Madrid, a conference on Lettuce, with the participation of the most important producers of this leafy vegetable worldwide.

Anecoop grew 10.7% in turnover in the last campaign

The turnover of the cooperative group Anecoop has grown 10.7% during the last campaign, reaching 639 million euros. It is the best exercise to date of this company not only in marketed value, but also in volume, which has experienced an increase of 4.8% to exceed 782,000 tonnes. In all, the consolidated of all the companies of the group amounts to 930,000 tons and 802 million euros.

PROEXPORT intensifies its commercial activity in Fruit Logística 2017 to increase its share of business

The inauguration of the Fruit Logística 2017 fair in Berlin has provided an intense commercial activity for the horticultural exporters of the Region of Murcia, represented in the stand of the Murcia Association of Producers-Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables (PROEXPORT). Thus, as PROEXPORT director Fernando P. Gómez Molina explains, “we have hosted multiple meetings with the objective of reaching all our customers the interest of the Region of Murcia to meet our commitments to meet the demand we are receiving, as a result of the cold wave that has affected horticultural crops throughout Europe and Murcia is one of the few areas that has been saved, attracting the interest of supermarket chains and intermediaries in the agricultural business”.
