The healthy character of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and its versatility in international kitchens will be the protagonists of the Gourmet Area at the World Olive Oil Exhibition, the largest monographic meeting dedicated to olive oil, which will celebrate its seventh edition on the 21st and March 22nd at IFEMA-Madrid. Chef Kike Piñeiro has devised a menu to explore different cuisines of the world and demonstrate the versatility of this emblematic product of Spanish cuisine. Through breakfast, appetizer, lunch and dinner, they will show how healthy it is to have this ingredient at any time of the day.

The Protected Designation of Origin “Priego de Córdoba” has received the first prizes of the 2017/18 campaign, after being awarded some of its oils in The Best Products Awards of the Natural Spaces of Andalusia.

The Interprofessional Organization of Beef of Spain (PROVACUNO) will begin its promotional activity in the Arab and North African countries this November. The starting point will be Egypt, in order to establish, and strengthen commercial ties with the Spanish beef sector, through actions such as a day of presentation of the beef of Spanish origin addressed to the most important Egyptian chefs , which will be held at the prestigious Egyptian Chefs Association. In this interesting day, the Spanish chefs Kisko García and Fernando del Cerro will show the versatility of the Spanish beef in the traditional and avant-garde cuisine, as well as their possibilities in the Egyptian culinary customs.

The 6th edition of the Andalucía Sabor fair closed its doors last 27th of September, with results that confirm the professional and commercial character of this event. Throughout its three days of celebration, this fair has received more than 5,500 visitors and has allowed more than 2,100 meetings arranged from the national and international missions in which have participated 20 Spanish buyers and another 52 of 25 countries of highlighting those coming from the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe and Asia.

A total of 41 restaurants from the eight Andalusian provinces have allied themselves in the Sabor Network, which from September 15th and for a whole month will offer special menus with quality Andalusian products. This is an initiative that is part of the Gastronomic Congress Andalusia Sabor, the largest professional event of Andalusian gastronomy, which will take place at Fibes II, Seville, from September 25th to 27th, held in parallel to the agri-food Fair Andalucía Sabor.

The Strawberries of Europe promotion campaign launched this summer the second edition of its ‘Fresetario’, a digital publication that brings together a selection of 20 recipes, with the strawberry as the main ingredient, which have been elaborated by renowned gastronomic bloggers from Spain.

On Thursday, July 6th, Unica Group and Avenida Hotel, Almería, presented their project to create a model of Hotel Saludable. The affluence of professional visitors in this latest edition of the Salón de Gourmets has been 95,346, more than 15.42% compared to 2016. With four pavilions, 1,630 exhibitors, 40,000 products, and 1,300 novelties, the 2017 can be considered as the best edition in the history of this Fair.

The extra virgin olive oil from the Protected Designation of Origin Montes de Granada and the Geographical Indication Protected Asparagus from Huétor Tájar, with the support of Agro-alimentary Cooperatives of Granada, promote together their excellence, quality and culinary versatility in the inescapable appointment that Represents the International Fair of Food and Beverages of Quality, Hall of Gourmets, celebrated during this week in Madrid.

The 31st Salon de Gourmets has started after an opening day marked by the enormous diversity of participation, 1,630 exhibitors and 40,000 products, and with the focus on innovation, as has been demonstrated by the presentation of more than 1,300 product innovations Agro-food.
