Spain: Azucarera factories in the north will receive more than 2 million tons of beet

The estimated capacity of the 2015/2016 campaign of Azucarera beet in northern Spain stands at 2,045,000 tons. The sown area, 20,545 hectares, and the state of cultivation allow the company to be optimistic about expected returns.

The favorable weather allowed to carry out work properly preparing the soil and planting facilitated to be executed in the recommended in most areas dates. Also, crop establishment was good and rain of June have allowed to develop, so now his condition is optimal.

The area of ​​influence of the factory Toro (Zamora) is the one with the greatest area of ​​9,203 hectares planted with expectations of receiving 955,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, in La Bañeza (León) they have planted 6,281 hectares and is expected to receive 605,000 tons of root. Finally, in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos) have been planted 5,061 hectares of beet and the estimate would be 485,000
