Ritchie Bros.

Ritchie Bros., one of the world’s leading industrial auc oneers and a leading global asset management company, con nues to prove why it is the partner of choice for interna onal used equipment customers, combining unparalleled global reach, advisory exper se, and full-service support to help customers maximize the value of their assets across borders.

The recent Orlando (Florida) auc on, the world’s largest construc on equipment auc on, provided a clear proof point of Ritchie Bros.’ global marketplace model in ac on. The event that sold more than 14,500 assets, a racted more than 1,180 sellers, including 36 interna onal sellers outside North America, specially from EMEA and APAC countries, with strong par cipa on from China, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands.

Demand engagement reflected the same interna onal scale, with more than 19,500 bidders in total, including 952 interna onal bidders (excluding USA, Canada, and Mexico), from countries such as Colombia, the UAE, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Egypt and China. More than 4,180 buyers par cipated in total, of which 228 were interna onal beyond North America, including markets such us United Kingdom, Spain, the UAE, Germany, and Australia. The auc on generated more than US$265+ million in total sales, of which $17 million was equipment sourced from outside the United States, shipped across 122 containers worldwide.

This demonstrates Ritchie Bros.’ ability to connect sellers and buyers across con nents, crea ng a global pricing benchmark. “Orlando is a clear example of how Ritchie Bros. opens doors to interna onal markets and provides access to truly global demand,” said Finlay Massey, VP Asia Pacific & Sourcing. “Whether in EMEA, APAC or the Americas, our scale, reach and market insight give customers confidence that their equipment will reach the markets where demand is strongest and value is maximised.”

Advisory Expertise and Full-Service Support

In today’s dynamic global marketplace, used equipment rarely stays within a single region. Shi ing trade policies, evolving regula ons, and changing documenta on requirements influence where and how  machinery is bought and sold.

Leveraging extensive transac on data across EMEA, APAC, and beyond, Ritchie Bros. guides sellers to the  right market for each asset, supported by expert advisory teams, opera onal infrastructure and end-to end service.

This data-driven approach was reflected in Orlando with the sale of a standout 2024 Cat D10 Next Gen sourced from the Czech Republic, which sold for $1.7 million, achieving its highest value by being posi oned in the opmal interna onal market through Ritchie Bros.’ advisory exper se and global reach.

The results also highlight the strength of Ritchie Bros.’ interna onal capabili es, with European sellers accessing worldwide demand and European buyers ac vely par cipa ng in interna onal auc ons— demonstra ng how Ritchie Bros.’ global model works locally. “Market condi ons, tariffs and regional regula ons can quickly change where the best place is to sell a piece of equipment,” said David Dahirel, Sales Director Europe South & Sourcing. “Our interna onal reach, combined with deep market insight and local exper se, allows us to advise customers on where to sell to maximise returns.

At the same me, our full-service support—from documenta on and compliance to shipping and logis cs—removes complexity and risk from cross-border transac ons.” As a people-powered marketplace, Ritchie Bros. combines global technology, data and pla orms with the exper se of thousands of specialists—valuators, inspectors, auc oneers, advisors and logis cs teams— who bring judgement, integrity and trust to every transac on. This human exper se, backed by global infrastructure, enables sellers and buyers to transact confidently across borders in an increasingly complex interna onal market.

Selling Equipment in the Right Market

Success in today’s global equipment marketplace goes beyond simply finding a buyer—it requires connec ng with the right buyer, in the right market, at the right me, in order to maximize value for all par es. As a trusted partner, Ritchie Bros. demonstrated this at the Orlando auc on, showing that interna onal selling can be profitable, seamless, and stress-free.
