In recent years, the Mexican production of blackberry was growing to place Mexico as the first producer worldwide of this small fruit.

Currently Mexico contributes a quarter of the world production of blackberry, this is possible because:

In 2017, production exceeded 270 thousand tons.

-It is cultivated in 13 states, placing Michoacán, Jalisco and Colima as the main producers.

More than 12 thousand hectares of this fruit were harvested.

Thanks to the work of the national blackberry producers and the implementation of better cultivation techniques, Mexico managed to position itself as the main producer of this fruit in the world, which shows how capable the Mexican field is.
