The 43rd edition will take place at the Rimini Expo Centre from 21 to 23 April, with Avocados and Mangoes taking centre stage. The Healthy Food area will be expanded to include a large variety of fresh and processed fruit and vegetables.
Macfrut has revealed the first details of the 2026 edition, scheduled to take place at the Rimini Expo Centre from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 April. Firstly, the 43rd edition will focus on two key products: Avocados and Mangoes. Internationally, there has been a notable increase in the production and consumption of these two crops, with southern Italy experiencing a particularly significant rise. Alongside the in-depth technical and commercial events featuring leading international experts in the field, the three-day trade fair will feature business-focused sessions dedicated to avocados and mangoes.
‘We came up with the idea of organising a series of B2B vertical sessions, which will allow producers and buyers to network with all the main production and sales areas of these products in just one day,’ explains Renzo Piraccini, President of Macfrut. ‘These events will be aptly named Avocado Day and Mango Day. They will take place on two separate days and are intended to generate new business opportunities.’
One of the innovations planned for Macfrut 2026 is the expansion of the Healthy Food Area. Following the positive feedback received for the last edition, this exhibition will feature a large variety of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products (and much more), which are highly beneficial superfoods. The spotlight will be on minimally processed health-promoting products, which will be presented by renowned Italian personalities in conversation with experts, chefs, and growers. The exhibition aims to introduce these innovative products to hospitality industry professionals and distributors, giving them the opportunity to sample them.
‘There is an increasing focus on innovative, healthy and health-promoting products,’ concludes Piraccini. ‘Macfrut will be showcasing these products and offering visitors the chance to sample them. The event will also connect production and consumption channels (commercial and collective catering), as well as sales channels (normal trade and modern distribution), with an innovative approach.’
