Hispatec Italy is born: the integrated digital platform for the entire agri‑food chain – from field to market – arrives in Italy

The Spanish group Hispatec — 40 years of history, more than 200 professionals, and over 750 clients in more than 30 countries worldwide — is bringing to Italy the only digital ecosystem that natively and seamlessly covers the entire agri‑food chain: from agronomic field management to international logistics, including storage, packing, marketing and management control. A proposal built on decades of work in the most demanding fruit and vegetable markets in the world.

Hispatec, an international group specialized in software and data intelligence for agri‑food networks, announces the launch of Hispatec Italy, the group’s first standalone company outside Spain. The move is part of the international growth strategy initiated with the entry of Three Hills Capital Partners into the company’s shareholding structure in 2024, and marks the group’s first direct investment in a non‑Iberian European market.

Founded 40 years ago in Almería and a recognized leader in the Spanish and LATAM AgriFoodTech market, Hispatec has built over time a complete technological ecosystem for agribusiness, with offices and its own structures in nine countries — Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Costa Rica and now Italy — and with projects carried out in more than 30 countries across five continents. The group currently has more than 200 professionals and over 750 active clients across Europe, Latin America and Africa.

With Hispatec Italy, the group brings to the national market not only a new corporate presence, but an integrated digitalization model for the agri‑food sector, built on a logic that starts in the field and supports every phase — from production to industrial, logistical and administrative management — all the way to delivery to the final customer. The goal is to establish a stable presence over the next three years and become a key partner for high‑value agri‑food chains.

A unique ecosystem: the entire chain in a single platform

Hispatec’s competitive advantage is structural and difficult to match: no other operator in the Italian market currently offers a native digital ecosystem that covers the entire agri‑food chain in an integrated and continuous way, from the agricultural plot to the final customer.

Hispatec’s solutions are not independent modules connected through later integrations: they are designed to share the same data and provide a real‑time unified view of all processes. Data recorded in the field automatically feeds post‑harvest management; production costs flow directly into industrial accounting; shipments are monitored using the same qualitative information generated at the time of packing.

For cooperatives, Producer Organizations and large agri‑food groups — entities that currently manage the chain with fragmented tools, spreadsheets and generalist ERPs not designed for agriculture — this translates into a concrete operational result: less information dispersion, greater process control, and decisions based on real data rather than estimates.

From plot to customer: how Hispatec covers every stage of the chain

Hispatec does not sell modules: it supports processes. The ecosystem covers four key moments of the value chain, each with a dedicated solution that integrates natively with the others.

Pre‑harvest – Efemis

Farm Management Information System (FMIS) for pre‑harvest operations. Planning and control of agronomic activities, digital field notebook (compliant with Italian regulations), phytosanitary management integrated with official MAPA catalogues, satellite imagery, GIS and IoT sensors, automatic cost calculation per plot. Mobile app functional even offline, with WhatsApp notifications and the integrated AI assistant Margaret. Efemis also includes specific functionalities for growers and input distributors: data‑based agronomic recommendations, technical management of clients’ plots, and integration with weather stations and official phytosanitary catalogues.

Post‑harvest and commercialization – ERPagro

Vertical ERP for post‑harvest and commercialization. Covers the entire warehouse, packing and sales cycle: purchasing and grower settlements, production planning, warehouse and inventory, end‑to‑end traceability, accounting, finance and HR. It natively integrates pre‑harvest data, eliminating double data entry and ensuring information consistency throughout the chain.

Logistics and quality – Control Tower Pro

Real‑time monitoring of shipments across all transport channels, centralized document management, non‑conformities and claims management, and information sharing with clients and suppliers. Includes analytical dashboards to assess carrier performance and the logistical impact on margins.

Intelligence and data – Margaret

AI and Big Data platform specialized in agriculture, developed by Hispatec since 2021. Integrates generative models to produce forecasts, simulate scenarios and support decision‑making at every point of the chain. Hispatec is one of the founding members of the ENIA International Chair “Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture”, together with the University of Córdoba (Spain) and the University of Melbourne (Australia). The group invests more than €3 million annually in R&D activities.

Why Italy

The choice of Italy as the first key European market for direct investment is based on concrete data. According to ISTAT, in 2024 the value of Italian agricultural production reached €74.6 billion: the country ranked first in the European Union in agricultural added value (€42.4 billion, MASAF source), and agri‑food exports exceeded €70 billion. A sector of this scale and international projection requires management tools aligned with its complexity.

The technological offering currently available in the Italian market is fragmented and focused mainly on pre‑harvest and on solutions designed for small businesses.

Hispatec positions itself in a different space: that of complex chains, large producers, cooperatives and Producer Organizations that need to integrate data and processes across the entire value chain.

Hispatec Italy at Macfrut 2026

Companies and operators interested in learning more about Hispatec’s solutions will be able to do so directly at Macfrut (Rimini, April 21–23, 2026), Italy’s leading trade fair dedicated to the fruit and vegetable supply chain. Participation in the event marks the official launch of Hispatec Italy in the national market.

The group has participated for years in the main international sector events — from Fruit Attraction in Madrid to Fruit Logistica in Berlin — and brings to Macfrut the same technical expertise and direct demonstration capabilities.

Antonio Samaritani, CEO of Hispatec Italy, stated:

“The Italian market shows a growing need for tools that help companies manage operations, quality, supply chain and economic control in a more connected way. What we offer is not just another vertical software: it is the possibility of having a single, reliable source for all chain processes, from the field to the final customer. The goal of Hispatec Italy is to support this evolution with a solid local presence, an industrial approach and a technological proposal designed to turn data into a real lever for efficiency and competitiveness.”
