The next World Avocado Congress will be held in Peru

The solid growth in the sector presented by Peru in recent years earned him to be chosen as the headquarters of the VIII World Avocado Congress, to be held from 13 to 18 September. The event, organized by Prohass, is the most important for Hass avocado industry worldwide.

The president of the International Avocado Society and the Association of Producers and Exporters of Palta Hass Peru, Prohass, James Bosworth, said recently that in the past 15 years the country has become the second largest exporter in the world with 165,000 tonnes recorded last year.

“Today the main destinations of our avocados are Europe and the United States, representing 90% of our exports,” said James Bosworth.
