Germany. Ecuador remains the highest seller and is in Cologne where the more you pay

The premium and other bananas bananas have been the most expensive throughout the year in the wholesale market in Cologne. Market Bananas are the cheapest Munich.

The average price of premium bananas has reached the same level in July last year, with an average of about 141 euros per 100 kilos, according to the bulletin of the BLE. For other brands, the average price was around EUR 105 per 100 kilos.

If the price trends observed 2015, a price difference can be seen between the five largest wholesale markets. The premium and other bananas bananas have been the most expensive throughout the year in the wholesale market in Cologne while market Bananas are the cheapest Munich.

Germany imported a total of 1,385,255 tons of bananas (excluding plantains) in 2014. The most important import country is Ecuador. Last year in this Latin American country reached 540 218 tonnes of bananas, equivalent to 258 262 euros. Colombia is the second country with 355 087 tonnes.
