CIEChile and COFIDES collaborate to facilitate Spanish business investment

The Spanish Development Finance Company, COFIDES, SA, and the Foreign Investment Committee, CIEChile, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote and encourage investment by Spanish companies in Chile, which is one of the countries with the highest number of projects COFIDES in the portfolio.

Through this agreement, both institutions are committed to promote the internationalization of Spanish companies in Chile and disclose financial and institutional support from both. Thus, CIEChile undertakes to disseminate information and facilitate the various investment opportunities in Chile as well as support and promote the financial instruments of the Company. In turn, COFIDES promoted to Spanish companies with interests in Chile about the services offered by CIEChile.

The Foreign Investment Committee (CIEChile), is a public institution under the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism of Chile. Its purpose is to promote and attract foreign investment and improve the investment climate in the country, offering care and providing information to potential investors, facilitation and support in the realization of their investment projects, and post services -investment once settled in the country.

The agreement between CIEChile Executive Vice President, Jorge Pizarro, and President of COFIDES, Salvador Marin, was held at the headquarters of COFIDES attended by the Ambassador of Chile in Spain, Francisco Marambio, the head of the commercial office ProChile, Lorena Sepulveda, and Deputy Director of Corporate and Institutional Relations COFIDES Fernando Aceña.

President and CEO of COFIDES, Salvador Marín, stressed that “Chile offers great business opportunities and investment for Spanish companies and is one of the countries with the highest number of projects COFIDES portfolio.” He also added that “with this agreement we expect significant growth of Spanish companies interested in the Chilean market and for that they can count on our financial support.”

For his part, the executive vice president of CIEChile, Cristi Jorge Pizarro, said that “Spain is a natural partner for Chile. Over 10% of foreign investment entering Chile from 2009 corresponds to Spanish companies, and I am sure that this agreement will help to that figure continues to grow “. Likewise, he stressed that “COFIDES support is very important, because we have a strategic ally for the sector opportunities offered by our country reach the companies in the best way, and with the best support.”
