The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has granted registration for MildicutĀ® Max (ESā01685), the new fungicide from Certis Belchim aimed at controlling grapevine downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola). With this authorization, the company expands its viticulture portfolio by incorporating a solution designed to strengthen the efficacy and consistency of disease management programmes.
MildicutĀ® Max is marketed as an SC formulation and combines cyazofamid (25 g/L) and disodium phosphonate (250 g/L), a mixture that provides dual action āsystemic and contactā enabling its use in both preventive strategies and scenarios with variable disease pressure.
Preventive activity and suppression of sporulation
The product stands out for its strong preventive action and translaminar behaviour, which enhances protection of treated tissues. Its antisporulating and sporicidal effects help limit the spread of downy mildew, a particularly relevant factor in grape clusters, the most sensitive part of the plant.
Persistence and rainfastness
Among its technical features, MildicutĀ® Max offers up to 14 days of persistence, depending on crop stage and environmental conditions. It also provides high rainfastness, a key attribute in seasons with frequent rainfall.
Approved uses and integration into management programmes
The fungicide is registered for wine and table grapes, with applications permitted from BBCH 15 (shoot development) to BBCH 81ā89 (ripening). Its technical profile allows for easy integration into downy mildew control programmes that require sustained protection and responsiveness to recent infections, helping to optimise intervals between treatments within authorised guidelines.
A new tool to strengthen vineyard protection
With the registration of MildicutĀ® Max, Certis Belchim provides growers and technicians with a solution adapted to current vineyard challenges: high downy mildew pressure in certain seasons, the need for continuous protection, resistance management and the demand for effective tools within planned programmes. The company continues to expand its crop protection portfolio with solutions aligned with the productive and sanitary needs of the vineyard.
