Argentina succeeded in opening the market of meat from Canada

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Carlos Casamiquela, announced the opening of the beef market to Canada took shape, from the efforts of a delegation of the International Relations Unit of the National Health Service and Food Quality (SENASA ), on an official mission to that country.

The arrangement is the result of the government’s decision and efforts made through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the Foreign Ministry and the IPCVA (Institute for the Promotion of Argentina Beef), with a commitment to regain the ability to strengthen foreign trade of Argentine agricultural products and continue to produce quality meat recognized by the most demanding markets worldwide.

The Canadian market reopens after June this year in the World Trade Organization ruled in favor of Argentina in the negotiations with the United States that face this situation should correct the rule prohibiting the export of meat for 14 years .

Argentina exported frozen and chilled to Canada from 1998 to 2001 for a volume of 42,000 tonnes, the highest year 2000 export volume of 21,600 tons meat.
