The automotive brand sprayer Agrifac Condor Model 04 presented by the company Agrifac / Horticulture Solutions, SLU, has won the 19th Award for Technological Innovation and Safety of Agricultural Machinery Design, an award organized by Fira de Lleida under the 61st edition of the Feria de San Miguel and the 30th Eurofruit lounge. The jury, which met today at the Crystal Palace Exhibition of Lleida, has awarded the second prize to the company Agroptima, SL for viewing maps through the mobile app to your mobile farm management software with GPS technology. Finally, the third prize went to the collection system sensor information submitted by the company Modpow, SL.

The winning team, the automotive brand sprayer Agrifac Condor model 4 presents new incorporating the Balance Plus, height control systems; High Air Tech, dosing; the Norac, self-leveling; the StabiloPlus, width varying, and Greentronic, pressure control of the spray. The sprayer allows up to 2 m height (ideal for tall crops such as corn, sunflower, rapeseed, etc.) and increase work capacity by 40%. The jury noted that the team incorporates new technology to achieve a more efficient plant protection product dosage.

The second prize went to Agroptima, SL, which has mobile software Agroptima farm management with GPS technology. It consists of an app for smartphones, which serves to target tasks from the field, and a web platform to query tasks to posteriori. The winning team is the map display via the mobile app.

Modpow, SL has been awarded for its Datalogger Modpow 3 P, a system of information acquisition sensors. It is a data logger (to detect moisture or soil temperature, etc.) wireless totally adapted to the requirements of the field. He noted for its robustness and reliability and simplicity of installation and use.

This award is presented as recognition of the effort to deliver improvements and advances by the industry and agro machinery sector and at the same time as an incentive to face the hall exhibitors presenting innovative equipment.

The Jury is composed of members of the College of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia; College of Industrial Engineers of Lleida; Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food and Environment; Department of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise; Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine; Lleida Experimental Station of the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA); Department of Agroforestry Engineering of the University of Lleida; Department of Agricultural Engineering and Biotechnology at the Technical University of Catalonia; Committee “Tractors and Agricultural Machinery” of AENOR; FEMEL; FEMAC; ANSEMAT, and the Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Department of Enterprise and Employment.

Fira de Lleida will present the award at the closing ceremony of the 61st Agricultural Fair of Sant Miquel and lounge Eurofruit 2015 fairs held in the Fira de Lleida from 24 to 27 September. The first prize will receive 1,000 euros and a diploma, while the second and third prizes will be awarded with two separate diplomas.
