AGRONOVA Biotech takes a new step forward in its strategy of consolidation and integration of capabilities with the obtaining of the European Biostimulant registration under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 for its product Spirunol. This registration authorizes its commercialization in all European Union countries and marks the official launch of the product in the European market with its validated agronomic claims.

This milestone represents a significant advancement in AGRONOVA Biotech’s model as an integrated industrial and technological platform, from which the group structures the development, production, validation, and scaling of regulated biotechnological solutions.

Spirunol strengthens an advanced and sustainable biotechnological proposal for the agricultural sector

Spirunol is a phenological biostimulant formulated from proprietary‑strain Spirulina microalgae (AGNOVA‑001), naturally treated with specialized enzymes. Its high concentration of rapidly absorbed bioactive compounds provides metabolic energy during the critical flowering and fruit‑set window, improves floral functionality, and reduces stress thanks to its osmoprotective effect. The development of Spirunol combines scientific knowledge, production capacity, and regulatory rigor within a unified framework—reflecting AGRONOVA Biotech’s approach to operating as a cohesive front in the creation of advanced agricultural solutions.

Agronomic validation and regulatory compliance as a shared foundation

The registration, granted under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, officially recognizes Spirunol as an authorized European biostimulant, allowing its commercialization in all EU member states and validating its agronomic claims under UNE‑CEN/TS technical specifications.

The submitted trial package demonstrated significant increases in the number, size, and weight of fruits across the main crop groups covered by the regulation: woody crops, horticultural crops, and broadacre crops.

Additionally, Spirunol is authorized for use in organic farming according to the UNE 142500 standard, reinforcing its alignment with the sustainability and soil‑protection objectives established by the new European agricultural policy.

One step further in AGRONOVA Biotech’s promise

With CE registration and the launch of Spirunol, AGRONOVA Biotech materializes its commitment to offering biotechnological solutions developed through an integrated model, supported by scientific evidence, in‑house industrial capacity, and regulatory compliance in the most demanding markets.

With this progress, AGRONOVA Biotech strengthens its positioning in Europe and consolidates its international expansion based on effective, regulated solutions aligned with a shared vision of sustainable growth.
