The II Business Agro Business on the olive sector, “Olivar: quality and innovation for international markets”, held today in Cordoba, was inaugurated with the interventions of the mayor of Cordoba, Isabel Ambrosio Palos, and the Andalusian Minister of Agriculture, Rodrigo Sánchez Haro, who has highlighted the enormous opportunity offered by digitization through e-commerce so that Andalusian olive oil reaches more distant countries.

LA UNIÓ denounces the Generalitat and AICA bad practices of Alcampo and Dia in the sale of oranges

LA UNIÓ of Llauradors i Ramaders has asked the Generalitat’s Directorate General for Trade and Consumption and the Food Information and Control Agency (AICA) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA) to initiate an investigation on the prices they are applying in their citrus offerings the distribution chain Alcampo and Supermercados Dia, in case they could be incurring supposedly in practices contrary to some of the guiding principles of the Law of the Food chain.

More than seven million kilos of fruit and vegetables to charitable organizations

On July 28th, the Association of Organisations of Producers of Fruit and Vegetables of Andalusia (APROA) held its General Assembly, in which was reported on the actions about Prevention and Crisis Management, made during 2016, to all representatives of the OPFHs. These include the delivery of more than seven kilos of fruit and vegetables to charitable organizations throughout Spain, via the withdrawal system.

The legendary TE20 tractor Massey Ferguson turns 70

Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO, celebrates the 70th anniversary of the entry into production of its famous tractor Ferguson TE20, affectionately known as’ Little Grey Fergie, the July 6th of 1946 it left the assembly line of its old factory Banner Lane in England. The legendary tractor, which changed the agricultural world, was the brainchild of engineer and inventor Harry Ferguson, one of the founders of the current Massey Ferguson.

The Fair ‘Nova Agriculture’ (Italian) hosted the second European event of Trelleborg for agricultural tires

Fair “Nova Agriculture” held in Bologna, Italy, on July 21st, hosted the second stop of the European Road Show that has been organizing Trelleborg agricultural tires under the slogan “more with less”. FEPEX and ASAJA don’t recognize Hortiespaña as Interprofessional of certain greenhouse vegetables

At a special meeting of the Full Council General of Interprofessional Organizations Agrifood (OIA) held in the morning of July 28th, FEPEX and ASAJA have voted against the recognition of Hortiespaña as national interprofessional organization of certain greenhouse vegetables. A recognition that despite such negative feedback, has become effective and that includes productions such as tomato, pepper, cucumber, eggplant, zucchini, melon and watermelon grown under shelter and for fresh consumption.
